With my handles arrived to my dismay they were smaller than one order of nigiri without really anything to them. Hand rolls typically come rolled in seaweed and have some resemblance Japanese food. When the albacore hand rolls arrived I realize they weren’t here rules at all and it was as if I ordered tacos and received a burger or if I were macaroni and cheese and received a steak. I was so hungry I decided to order albacore hand rolls.
When we were seated we were scored into a awkward back alley outdoor seating it was quite uncomfortable and loud with the airplanes flying overhead. After eight years we finally made it to the restaurant. My wife has wanted to visit this cool location since we moved to San Diego. We enjoyed the evening especially our waiter but sorry to say the food wasn’t what we expected. The waiter recommended the ice cream sandwich for dessert which we split and enjoyed very much. We were told it would take 45 minutes to cook the duck which was fine with us. The duck was prepared very rare still red inside. We would recommend the beet salad but the duck arrived with the head looking at me still attached. We ordered the whole duck for two and the beet salad which we split. Our waiter explained the different wines with great detail and offered a taste of 2 foreign wines. We ordered from the wine list which had good domestic and foreign wines. Our waiter was prompt and showed us your limited menu. I would suggest when people make reservation be sure to tell them to wear a very warm coat.
We asked to be moved to a warmer area which they did Politely. We were seated at our table in front of the door where the wind was blowing and it was freezing cold. We arrived for our reservation at five, were told they weren’t quite ready and that we should stand outside in the freezing cold with the other people.
